Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

We are deeply committed to preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV), including harmful practices such as child marriage. Our programs focus on strengthening multi-sectoral capacity to address GBV through prevention, risk mitigation, and comprehensive response mechanisms. We provide essential services for survivors, including access to medical care, legal support, and psychosocial counseling, ensuring they receive the care and protection they need to heal and rebuild their lives. Through community outreach, advocacy, and training, we raise awareness about the harmful impacts of GBV, challenge cultural norms that perpetuate violence, and promote gender equality and respect for human rights.

We also focus on building the resilience of women, girls, and marginalized groups by promoting their active participation in decision-making processes and increasing access to social and economic opportunities. By creating safe spaces for women and girls, particularly those with disabilities, we provide them with the support and resources needed to recover from violence and achieve independence. IPHR-Uganda is dedicated to fostering an environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, can live free from violence and discrimination, contributing to the broader goal of creating a more just and equitable society.
